Extractions are indicated in various situations – the tooth is not salvageable, there is not enough room (think wisdom teeth) or severe bone loss. After the area is fully numb, the tooth is removed gently. Typically a bone graft will be placed at the same time to preserve the space for a future implant, bridge site, or providing optimum surface area for dentures.
